  • hey look! im amazing!!

i was able to copy and paste from fb. mad at myself i didnt think of it before... my fb is on lockdown  so you guys wouldnt be able to access it anyway. i forgot about that. i have nosy people searching for me on there so...

    here's the rocker pics!

  • so much to keep me busy

i love being busy. i hate being busy. my brain works so much faster than my body. i make myself tired so i can only imagine the mental exhaustion i put kenneth through. i finished two rocker guy silhouette paintings for alec's room. they look awesome. im on the laptop right now with no access to pics so, ill have to upload them later unless you want to check out my fb page. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/photo.php?pid=1117023&id=1498027878
doubt the link works so, copy/paste. sorry. i took some more pics of them on the wall above his bed but, havent uploaded those yet.
my latest endeavor is remodeling the living room with no budget. so, im repurposing furniture, painting, etc. i did find a set of shutters (huge) for cheap (really) at a local antique shop and my dream is to paint a huge floral scene on them for the wall space behind the couch. i am definitely doing shabby chic with a touch of contemporary (if you can really put a style on it), at least that's what's in my head. im not sure i have before pics because we had recently re-arranged the living room a few weeks ago an i dont know if i have pics of that. but, i have had the "tuscan" theme going for about the last 6 years and i am sick of it. sick. as much as i love red, i am sick of the olive and mustard and burnt everything that goes with it. so the new colors are a real decorative stretch for me because i am using colors i dont typically like. yeah. navy blue, yellow (i do love yellow), teal-ish (which i hate), cream, and white. some of the furniture will be painted a very dark brown to "match" (not really) our dining room table because i have to carry this theme from our living to dining space since our downstairs is an open concept. can you tell ive been watching too much hgtv?  i have high hopes though and am excited about painting a mural on the shutters. it will be huge.
the boy is home sick with some ridiculous virus from the "sickest" school in the universe and i'm still trying to rest as much as possible since my medical leave is dwindling away. i have only about 5 weeks left before i return to hell. i have been applying for jobs but, so far, have had no success. got my hopes up a couple of times but, hasnt panned out so, i guess its not in the plan...
    have a great weekend...

  • "leavin' it all behind"

no, i'm not abandoning xanga. although it must seem so since i never post here anymore. sorry angie. "leavin' it all behind" is the name for my latest painting which has actually been done for quite some time. i have been disciplining myself in regards to how much time i spend on the computer so, i have been here very much in the past couple of months. plus, i think maybe people get bored just seeing a painting and not having anything to read. i have tons going on here and i really dont have time to post about it all tonight. i have already used my alotted "sitting up" time today and i really need to go take the pressure off my back.

looooooong story very short... i am on forced medical leave for a herniated disc (probably happened when i fell at work last april) because i asked for a stool and they said "no". epidural cortisone injection didnt work. disability claim denied. personal injury lawyer filing workers comp claim. had spinal surgery last friday. now recovering and deciding what to do about returning to work at walmart. hmph. i'll blog more details later. maybe. its a pain in my butt. literally.

anyway, here's my painting. im going to price them all soon and try to start selling them so, let me know if you have one in mind for yourself or to give as a gift. once they are priced, i'd love some honest feedback as to whether you think the prices are fair or whether i need to get my head out of the clouds. really.  i love this one. from the moment i sketched it out i had john mayer's "why georgia, why" in my head. i really wish i could've incorporated that into the painting but, i couldnt see a way without making it look cheesy with words in the sky.

doesnt it just make you want to get in the car and go for a drive?
    yeah, me too.

i'm working on two 12x24 panels for alec's room. rock star silhouettes in tan and black to match the decor. we're moving from "kid" to "youth". not much skill required but, i think they will look neat. i wanted him to paint them in but, he didn't seem too interested so... wall art at mom's expense. totally.
